Published online on July 02, 2013
Abstract
Since the creation of the 1994 Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Bernie Auchter and his colleagues affiliated with the National Institute of Justice’s (NIJ) Violence Against Women Research and Evaluation Program have done much to assist the efforts of progressive researchers, practitioners, activists, and policy makers. Their work also helped enhance the health and well-being of countless women victimized by violence. This article is based on an interview with Bernie and chronicles some of his key contributions to the field.
