Using a multiple case study design, we examined how residents and stakeholders perceived the context of recovery homes in Houston and Austin, Texas. Six neighbourhoods with recovery homes were selected. Data were collected through environmental audits, participant observation, and in‐depth interviews. Thematic analysis identified patterns within and across cases. Residents (N = 58) and stakeholders (N = 21) described how neighbourhood settings created both opportunities and challenges. Centrally located homes facilitated access to services but heightened exposure to triggers. More distal urban homes presented transportation barriers, especially for those without cars. Suburban homes, though less accessible, fostered pride and self‐esteem through their well‐maintained, aspirational settings. Findings highlight neighbourhood factors that recovery housing operators may consider when matching potential residents to settings that best support their recovery.\n"]
