Abstract

["Tijdschrift voor Economische en Sociale Geografie, EarlyView. ", "\nAbstract\nThis paper explores the commemorative practices of two feminist collectives engaging in anti‐feminicide collages in the cities of Paris and Montreuil. Based on ethnographic fieldwork conducted between 2023 and 2025, it examines how these activist interventions, as temporary urban memorials, intersect memory‐work and care‐work in urban space. It argues that anti‐feminicide collages function as materialised practices of care‐full remembrance transforming ordinary city walls into sites of mourning, denunciation and feminist engagement. Through an analysis of the spatial materialisation of feminist memorials, this paper introduces the concept of ‘interface for care’ to describe this form of anti‐feminicide protest that connects the dead and the living through urban fabric. By doing so, it reveals how grassroots feminist memorials do more than publicise feminicide: they cultivate collective responsibility, reshape urban landscapes and reveal the potential of cities as spaces of care and political action.\n"]
