Abstract

["Population, Space and Place, Volume 32, Issue 5, July 2026. ", "\nABSTRACT\nThis contribution examines the patterns of (im)mobility and settlement structures of the 15 largest foreign communities residing in Italy in 2011. The analysis draws on original data from the most recent population censuses (2011 and 2021), focusing on the heterogeneity of (im)mobility dynamics, settlement geographies and their interactions across six metropolitan capitals representative of the North (Turin and Milan), the Centre (Florence and Rome) and the South (Naples and Palermo) of the country. The findings highlight distinctive features that reflect broader territorial inequalities and illustrate the complexity of spatial adaptation processes among immigrant communities.\n"]
