Abstract
["Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, EarlyView. ", "\nABSTRACT\nWe examine the effect of eviction moratoria enacted in 2020 in the United States on intimate partner violence (IPV). Leveraging the differential implementation of state‐level policies and detailed criminal incident data, we estimate that eviction moratoria decreased reported IPV by 12% relative to the pre‐treatment average. These results are driven by a 28% reduction in IPV against Black women, who are disproportionately the targets of eviction. We also contribute to the literature by constructing a more comprehensive, up‐to‐date dataset on eviction moratoria in the United States.\n"]
